Event Planner

Location: Portland Oregon

Position Overview:

Do you love planning events that leave people buzzing with excitement? Are you organized, detail-obsessed, creative and social justice oriented? If so, we’d love to meet you! We’re searching for an enthusiastic and talented Event Planner to help bring our nonprofit clients’ visions to life. From coordinating vendors and designing event aesthetics to managing ticketing systems and creating stellar presentations, you’ll be involved in every step of the event planning process.

This is a hybrid role with some remote flexibility after training, but be ready to roll up your sleeves and jump in as we start entirely in person. Oh, and heads up: you’ll need to be onsite for all our fabulous events, which sometimes means evenings and weekends.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Vendor Coordination: You’ll research, book, and collaborate with the best vendors to make our clients’ events shine.

  • Event Design: Help create stunning event aesthetics that align with our nonprofit clients’ missions and wow their attendees.

  • Logistics Coordination: Keep all the moving parts in order—whether it’s managing event schedules, setup, teardown, or equipment rentals, you’ll make sure every detail is flawless.

  • Ticketing and Data Management: Build and manage ticketing platforms, track registrations, and keep auction data organized and accurate.

  • Presentation Development: Design beautiful PowerPoint slides that add polish to event programs and captivate audiences.

  • Timeline Management: Keep projects on track, ensuring deadlines are met and events run like clockwork.

  • Client Meetings: Schedule and attend meetings with the team to chat with clients, gather ideas, and keep them in the loop.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with our awesome team to support all aspects of event planning and execution.

What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for someone who is not only skilled but also shares our passion for making a difference. Here’s what we’re hoping to find in you:

  • Event Experience: You have experience planning events or have comparable skills from similar fields.

  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency with Mac/Apple computers, Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, etc.), and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is a must—we use them daily. Bonus points if you’re quick to pick up new technology and software.

  • Organized & Detail-Oriented: You’re the kind of person who notices when something is out of place and takes action to make it right. Nothing slips through the cracks with you on board.

  • Strong Communicator: You can build and maintain strong relationships and ensure clear communication with vendors and teammates.

  • Flexible & Calm Under Pressure: You understand that events often mean evenings and weekends, and you thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments. You remain calm, collected, and professional.

  • Relationship Builder: You bring strong skills for working with individuals from diverse communities and cultures, respecting and celebrating differences.

  • Passionate & Collaborative: You have a deep commitment to social justice, advocacy, and working toward the greater good. You love collaborating with a team and bring curiosity, enthusiasm, and kindness to everything you do.

  • Problem Solver: You’re innovative, resourceful, and able to take a task and run with it, but you also know when to ask for help.

Compensation & Perks:

  • Salary Range: $59,000–$64,000 to start, depending on your experience.

  • Benefits: Health insurance, 401K matching, and other awesome perks to keep you happy and healthy.

Work Environment:

  • In-Person & Hybrid: You’ll start entirely in person, but once you’re up to speed, you can enjoy the flexibility of working remotely part of the time—just as long as you’re hitting deadlines and delivering great work.

  • Onsite Events: You’ll be there to make the magic happen at every event we plan. These events often take place on evenings and weekends, so flexibility is a must.
